Hikmet Altunbaşlıer (b. 1983, Ankara) is a Turkish Trumpet soloist whose artistry bridges classical and jazz traditions. He studied at Hacettepe University State Conservatory with Ekrem Akkerman and Erden Bilgen, and later continued his training at Codarts Rotterdam Conservatory, where he appeared as a soloist with the Codarts Big Band under the direction of Ed Partyka.

He has performed with the Presidential Symphony Orchestra of Ankara, the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Orchestra, and served for ten years as Principal Trumpet of the Ankara Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kent Orkestrası (Ankara City Orchestra). His career includes extensive work in TRT television productions, studio sessions, and big band jazz ensembles, collaborating with prominent Turkish and international artists.

Since 2018, Altunbaşlıer has been a member of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, where he continues his career both as an orchestral musician and as a soloist. Alongside his symphonic performances, he has appeared in numerous concerts as a featured soloist, including the Turkish Rhapsody Concert at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall (2022), the Okay Temiz Concert (2011), the Meltem Ege Concert (2012), and the İmer Demirer & Aylin Gencer Concert (2013). In 2024, he performed Johann Friedrich Fasch’s Trumpet Concerto with the TRNC Presidential Symphony Orchestra.

As an educator, Altunbaşlıer taught at the Jazz Department of Hacettepe University State Conservatory for two years, contributing to the development of young musicians. He has also participated in international workshops, including those led by Wynton Marsalis in Istanbul and Aydın Esen in Ankara.
